This November 11th, thirty-two hikers gathered in Port Dalhousie Lakeside Park by 7am to board a bus for Port Colborne. Driving from Pickering, Meaford, Hagersville, Woodstock and places in between they were ready for the long day ahead. Excited to get started they barely noticed the -7C temperatures. Proud to display the poppy, they set of on the 45KM trek back to Port Dalhousie. Encouraged to take a moment of silence at 11am, some even hiked in honour of loved ones.
Still smiling in the end, happy that it was over, some even danced their way into the park.
Thank you to our fabulous check point volunteers for enhancing the hiker experience.
